Portraits of Instability
I’m currently (supposed to be) writing an essay on ethnic conflict and state collapse. I recently came across this startling photo essay on Foreign Policy’s website about failed states. Somalia is usually the poster-country when it comes to discussions on failed states but surprisingly there exists many more countries who, according to FP, have essentially lost control of their countries at great cost to their citizens.
